Dehydrated onion earns its place in a factory because it is stable, light and already prepared. A sauce plant that would otherwise peel, chop and fry tonnes of fresh onion can weigh out powder instead, with no waste, no cold storage and a consistent flavour from batch to batch.

Ours is made from white onion, which dehydrates to a pale, clean-looking powder rather than the darker tone red onion gives. Bulbs are washed, peeled, sliced and dried in stages, then milled and sieved to the mesh size the buyer specifies. The same line produces granules, minced and kibbled grades, so you can order several cuts against one shipment if your plant uses them differently.

Packing And Delivery

Powder is packed into kraft paper bags with a food-grade inner liner, heat sealed to keep moisture out, and palletised for loading into ordinary dry containers. Because onion powder picks up both moisture and odour, bags are kept away from strongly scented cargo and the container is lined where needed. Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and phytosanitary certificate go with every shipment, along with a batch analysis report where your buyer requires one.
